Some of the Manchester United soccer players stunned onlookers by showing up to a casino in London with the European Cup and Premier League trophy. After leaving the casino, the players strapped the trophies in the back seat of their car and headed to celebrity hot spot Manchester 235. Lucky club-goers were able to see stars including goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and defender Gary Neville who graciously allowed the crowds to take photos.
One fan said: “They were happy for us to pose up close with the trophies – it was incredible.”
The two Cups were carried in and out of the casino amid strict security, but one guard couldn’t resist breaking into a huge smile and hoisting the Champions League trophy aloft in triumph.
