Coventry trip for Caldy in Trophy

NATIONAL Three North leaders Caldy, like many others, take a break from League action today as they head to the Midlands for an EDF Energy National Trophy engagement.

Earlsden from Midlands Two West provide the opposition at Coventry.

Birkenhead take the road to Nottingham to meet Newark in the Trophy.

Several players are ruled out so Joe Pollard makes his debut in the second-row and Colin Campbell appears in the back-row. The wingers will be Andy Trotter and Anthony Malloy with in-form place kicker Dave Hall at full-back.

New Brighton, also in the Trophy, come up against Hull at Hartsfield.

Brighton, who beat Chester in the County Cup on Tuesday, switch Lario Tuliva to full-back with Alan Hesketh taking the scrum-half role. Mark Dorrington starts at prop and Paul Campbell joins the second-row.
