Toledo mayor accepts crystal trophy for city.
Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner praised his team’s efforts after the city placed third in its population category at the prestigious global Liveable Community Awards.
The first place award went to Malmo, Sweden, and Lyon, France received a second place trophy.
The awards were handed at the end of the event, which featured a glamorous ceremony, champagne reception and entertainment.
Mayor Finkbeiner was presented with a crystal trophy to celebrate his city’s achievement in gaining the third-place spot.
The awards, backed by the U.N. Environmental Program, are now in their 11th year.
