Trophy news from North Attleboro, MA…
High school squad takes home two trophies

North Attleboro High School cheerleaders really have something to cheer about.
The high school’s competition cheerleading team took home a first-place award and the grand champion trophy Saturday for the second time in two weeks.
The squad, which is coached by Patti Johnson and Julie George, competed at Holy Name High School in Worcester, cheering their way to a first-place finish in their division. The team was also awarded the grand champion trophy for earning the highest score of all teams competing that day – regardless of division.
A total of 19 teams competed in the event, with teams arranged in different divisions. North Attleboro competed in the Division 2 Varsity group.
The win was familiar territory for the team, which had the same outcome at David Prouty High School in Spencer the week before.
The team’s next competition will be 1 p.m. Saturday at North Attleboro High School, when it will compete for the Hockomock title.
