O’Brien trio in Trophy contention

Aidan O’Brien’s Masterofthehorse tops a 15-strong field for Saturday’s Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.

The Sadler’s Wells colt, a full brother to Classic winner Alexandrova, disappointed when only third in the Beresford Stakes on his latest start and is one of three Ballydoyle runners.

Set Sail and Indian Ocean also take their chance for Ballydoyle in the mile heat as O’Brien continues to chase a record 26 wins at the highest level for a season.

Mark Johnston’s Royal Lodge winner Jukebox Jury tackles Group One company for the first time, while Solario Stakes victor Sri Putra bids to bounce back from defeat in a Newmarket sales race last time.

John Gosden’s supplementary entry Red Spider stands his ground along with the Brian Meehan-trained trio of Crowded House, Roman Glory and Skanky Biscuit.

Michael Stoute’s Marching Time is another leading contender with Courageous, Gibb River, Midnight Cruiser, Rising Prospect and Weald Park completing the line-up.

John Oxx’s Mourayan was not declared as expected, while Jim Bolger’s Gan Amhras was another high-profile absentee.
