The cream of Warrington business could soon get their hands on creations from future art stars at this year’s Warrington Guardian Business Awards. The Guardian has once again teamed up with Priestley College to create trophies for the event on September 14. Students have been working on the designs since January, creating stunning trophies for the 10 categories.
Mark Eccleston, course co-ordinator for product design at Priestley College, said: “They are all brilliant. The idea is they are working for a client – they have a brief that the awards have to be aesthetically pleasing, quite robust and stay together. “The students like it because they are getting the experience with clients. They do raise their game.” After working on a design brief the 40 students compete to get their trophy picked and the finished designs were showcased by students last week.
Warrington Guardian group editor Nicola Priest said: “It’s always a hard job choosing our 10 trophies as the level of work is so high. I thought this year’s trophies were better than ever with some really imaginative touches. I am certain that our award winners will be thrilled to win one of these unique trophies to proudly display.”
Businesses should submit their entries as soon as possible to be in the running to pick up one of the awards. The closing date is Friday, August 5, and you can enter here on our website. The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at the Park Royal Hotel, Stretton, on Wednesday, September 14.
