Recognition and Corporate Awards

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

With every company, each employee matters and makes a difference. No job is too small; every individual has a role and performs some function which aids in the smooth operation and success of a business. A company that values its employees and shows them their appreciation will have happier and more motivated workers. A great way to recognize employees and show that their work counts, is by presenting them with Corporate awards.

Employee recognition trophies and awards can serve multiple purposes. They help physically show the appreciation an employer has for a job well done. Everyone strives to be acknowledged for the work they do, especially when they do it well. Employee recognition awards are the perfect way to reward exemplary work.  Worker recognition should be prioritized by management to keep positive office morale. Seeing fellow workers receiving beautiful recognition awards will motivate others to reach that same high level of performance and quality work. Awards point out superstar employees and set an example, that if you aim high your work will not only be noticed, but be rewarded and appreciated.

There are so many ways these employee recognition awards can be utilized. Having a set time where one worker is noticed for their accomplishments on the job is a common tool used by employers to motivate their staff. Employee of the month plaques and awards can often be seen in offices as a constant reminder to work hard each day in the hopes of receiving such praise.

Performance awards are great for when a meeting a sales goal or signing on a certain number of new clients. At the end of the year performance can be evaluated and the MVP of the team can be rewarded with an award they can showcase on their desk to remember the year they were on top of their game. Any occasion decided on by the employer can be used to present their valued employees with a recognition award to improve morale, show appreciation, and give everyone a high standard to work towards.

Styles of Employee Recognition Corporate Awards

Giving your hard working employees an award for a job well done is a great idea to incorporate into the workplace, to set high standards and enforce the importance of them being met. Workers will be motivated by the opportunity to be in the running for a reward for their efforts and achievements. Once it has been decided to introduce employee recognition awards into the workplace, there are numerous options for the type of award to actually use and distribute. There is an unbelievable selection of recognition awards out there to choose from to fit any type of achievement, desired look, personal relevance or practicality.

Some offices choose to hang a plaque hung where all can see where the names of each recognized employees past and present are engraved.  Plaques such as this are proudly displayed and group highly respected employees who have made considerable workplace achievement together to be recognized.  There is a certain prestige for each employee who gets to see their own name added to this public display of appreciation and recognition.

Often offices of respected employees are lined with shelves of various awards outlining their accomplishments among peers in their industry. Individual employee recognition awards can make a statement and make that individual employee feel special and uniquely appreciated.  There are all types of employee recognition awards which can be used for this purpose, from more traditional personal plaques, to acrylic trophies and crystal awards. Personal plaques are an elegant way to present a high performing employee with something to display their expertise and achievement.

Acrylic awards and crystal trophies are beautiful gifts to bestow upon an employee who has made a considerable difference and gone above and beyond for the company. Any type of award or gift can be personalized with engraving to commemorate the name of the recipient and the date they were honored.  Simple gifts, when engraved can make a wonderful recognition award such as personalized lapel pins, desk clocks, paperweights or mugs and glasses.

Recognition Through Corporate Awards

Monday, January 31st, 2011

We’ve just left the college football season with the awarding of the Dr. Pepper Coaches’ Trophy to the Auburn Tigers for winning the BCS Football Championship. A few weeks earlier, Auburn Quarterback Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy for being the most outstanding college football player in 2010. While you might not think of these two awards as “Corporate Awards” what better award or trophy to reference than one for outstanding team and individual achievement?

Group Corporate Awards
The corporate concept of working as a “team” for the benefit of all most likely originated in athletics. Sales divisions of large and small corporations alike are often divided into teams that compete in getting the largest sales volume or net profit. The team concept has even spread to corporate health professional’s office where team meetings or “morning huddles” are held each day to review patient records and set set the tone for quality care for the day.

Awarding groups for their achievement is usually done at the annual office dinner or corporate banquet. The leader of each team, usually selected by the team members themselves, receives the award on behalf of his team’s achievement. Depending on the budget allotment, these awards traditionally have taken the form of wooden plaques with etched brass plates. With the advent of computer and laser technology, custom acrylic awards are becoming more and more popular. Team leaders can be presented with awards uniquely shaped and colored from stars to lightening bolts to mountain tops. Crystal awards, although generally more expensive, are a more formal reminder of the achievement attained. They are usually presented in the form of cups, bowls or platters for display. These awards can be displayed by the team leader in his office, or passed around for display among the team members.

Team Member Individual Awards
Awards for outstanding effort from team members can take many forms. There are individual awards that can range from small trophies or plaques to fancier individual acrylic awards. The beauty of the acrylic awards is that they can be designed in almost any shape and be tinted as well. The color tinted acrylic awards are extremely unique as they are generally translucent and reflect light as well to give a striking appearance. An acrylic award, while not as heavy as a crystal award, is a beautiful recognition of a job well done. Of course, if budget allows, all members of a corporate team could be given a crystal award shaped to represent the nature of their achievement. This type of crystal award could be anything from a solid lead crystal paper weight to a crystal mug or glass that has been etched to commemorate the occasion.

While not everyone can win the Heisman Trophy, recognition of corporate achievement by a hard working group of employees grouped into a team is important for establishing and maintaining corporate morale. There is no truer axiom than “a happy employee is a productive employee”. I would add that corporate awards that promote employee recognition is critical to making that happen.

Corporate Awards Fun Party Ideas

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Coming up with best corporate party ideas will propel your small party planning business to instant stardom!

Bold claim, isn’t it? Read on for my explanation.

Planning a corporate awards party is always a challenge. Can you imagine trying to please a big group of people and making sure that the party experience is good enough for each and every one of these attendees? It’s daunting, to say the least. But don’t get scared yet, because it can be done!

One element that sets corporate parties apart from all the other types of parties is the fact that the budget is big. Very few businessmen, the effective types, will scrimp on corporate awards parties. They realize that this is one of the best ways to pamper their employees. In fact, so many individuals who give their best efforts in the workplace look forward to the annual party because it’s a chance to connect with other employees without putting on their poker faces and hard hats. These are the employees you want to please. Your corporate awards party ideas have to zero in on the needs and wants of the company’s best employees.

Because the budget is almost limitless, and because you are not the only party planner in town, you can be sure that a bidding war will ensue. Corporations will make their plans public, and your job is to get their attention. So the next question is… what exactly will get the attention of these jaded businessmen? Will it be the testimonials from previous clients? Will it be the number of awards you managed to acquire for various cooking and party planning contests? It’s none of these things.

It’s your ability to present the best corporate awards party ideas that will get you the job.

The first thing that an event coordinator must do is to find out what has been done in the past, i.e. in terms of themes and giveaways. Before putting in your bid, you must research the company’s party history; including the small details like how many employees attended the party and the general feedback. Did the family picnic alienate the non-married employees? Did the emo-rock concert turn off the baby boomers? How many employees actually attended the rainbow-themed charity raffle? Put your intuition to work and consider the actual numbers to determine which party themes the employees found interesting.

Base your corporate party ideas on the employee’s age groups. The most effective way of doing this is considering the music that will be playing during the party. For instance, you noticed that most of the employees (and the bosses) are forty-ish. Your party agenda must include the music type that existed during the 1980s: new wave, punk rock and disco. You can take it a step further by adopting an “eighties party” theme.

The best corporate party ideas are those that encourage participation. Why not come up with a show that will involve a Punk Rock Costume competition (with a catwalk or a runway), or a Disco Fever Contest? When you stimulate the employee’s creativity and competitive spirit, you can be sure that the party will be a blast!

How to Choose the Best Corporate Awards for Your Employees

It is always important, especially in today’s economy, to acknowledge deserving hard workers. Companies that are short staffed and have workers toiling extra hours should be sure to reward employees with achievement trophies & awards to show that they are not going unnoticed in these tough times.

If you are going to get corporate awards for numerous people then it is better to opt for acrylic trophies & awards. While these aren’t exactly glass, they still appear to be classy and appropriate for the work setting. You can select from various shapes and sizes. Some classic shapes include squares, rectangles, but if you are feeling a bit more daring, shoot for the house, Number 1, or truck figures. These acrylic awards also offer a classic look with a dash of fun to make a worker smile. Another feature of these awards are that they can be engraved to put a worker’s name, title, or even an inside joke on them. Engraved awards give it that extra personal touch.

Crystal awards are offered in similar selections as the acrylic awards except produce an even more beautiful vision because of the colors that are created and emitted when hit with light. These delicate awards can be used as a desk decoration or if necessary, as a paperweight. In addition to the classic geometric forms, there are brilliantly shaped crystal eagles, diamonds, flames, and star awards. To take it one more step up you can honor that special someone with crystal vases and crystal cups– crystal awards that say “you matter.”

Employee awards and recognition awards are the best way to show your appreciation. With the various shapes, sizes and engraving choices, you will be sure to find one perfect for your award recipient.

Crystal Awards for Corporate Gifts

Monday, August 16th, 2010

A crystal award is a great corporate gift and a very creative way to recognize your employees. There are many varieties to choose from so you’ll be able to find the appropriate gift for the perfect person. When you give a corporate crystal award or gift your recipient’s pleased reaction will let you know that you purchased the perfect gift.

Most likely you’ve seen an award made of crystal in someone’s office or have received one yourself. These striking awards and gifts usually represent a specific achievement or goal that has been successfully reached. Crystal awards and crystal paperweights are able to be laser engraved so you can include a logo, picture or specific message.

Crystal awards can be utilized for a variety of business purposes. Crystal trophies and awards are the perfect way to acknowledge a major achievement, and everyone likes to be recognized for their hard work or for accomplishing something important. For example, if you have an employee who has reached a sales goal, then your award message can reflect their accomplishment, with their name and date. It’s always nice to include a personalized message that is specific to the event or accomplishment. You can present these awards on a monthly or yearly basis and offer larger award for larger achievements.

Crystal awards also make very nice corporate gifts for both employees and clients. You can gift crystal paperweights or other small crystal items that can be displayed on their desks. You can even have an employee appreciation week and give all of your employees a crystal award or gift to show them how much you value their contributions to your company. With a crystal gift you client will always have a reminder of how much you appreciate them.

Crystal gifts can also be given for personal reasons. For example, you can give your father a personal award that declares him the “World’s Best Dad.” You could also purchase a crystal item for your spouse to tell them how much you love and appreciate them. These items also make lovely mother’s day gifts, especially when engraved with a loving quote or poem.

Whether you’re celebrating a holiday, a birthday, anniversary, or a special accomplishment, gifts made from crystal are perfect for all situations. Crystal awards and gifts are not only meant to be utilized in the corporate world, but among family and friends as well. These gifts are perfect for both genders and for all ages.
